About the Musical Plays These musical plays were all written By Kevin M Reese to be performed by adult actors or talented teens. Reese's style of Children's Theatre is a cross between Carol Burnett, Robin Williams, and Mr. Rogers--lots of physical humor, word play, jokes--and unless they're careful, the kids just might learn something useful as well. In his plays, the villain is usually more silly than evil. If someone is bad, there is a reason for it--and they usually turn out to be OK in the end. He doesn't sanitize the stories--but he figures there's enough violence in the world today, kids don't need more for entertainment. The really wonderful thing about these musical plays is that with their simple set, costume, prop, and cast requirements, practically any theatre can produce successful children's theatre productions. Many of the roles can be played either by male or female actors and each musical has up-beat, original songs (except the shows A Christmas Carol and Buddy the Magic Snowman, which use popular Christmas Carols). Performance CDs are available. Each play has lots of audience participation, and comes with pre-show activities, Director's Script and Educational Study Guide. Original production videos are available which allow you to use the original blocking and choreography. Royalty is only $35 per performance (10+ performances = $30/perf), music Production Packet: $100.00, refundable music deposit: $50. |
